After Spencer      and Harry    , here comes my AU Rabbit: Rafaela.

    Rafaela arrived in town roughly two weeks after Spencer was elected Sheriff of Gearsburg. She is a robot performer, built to sing, dance and play several instruments. She came looking for a new job after the theatre she performed at in New Remington closed down. Rafaela wanted to find a place without too much competition, so the relatively new settlement of Gearsburg seemed the best option, especially now that there was a new, competent sheriff in town. She presented herself at the Golden Hatch, and was immediately hired. She now resides in one of the saloon's bedroom.

Her charm and talent, as well as Harry's bonhomie, quickly attracted a large clientele to the saloon, human and robotic alike.

    She is rather spunky and is more toughly built than she appears, and will not hesitate to help the Sheriff break off a large fight if ever it occurs in the saloon, Even if it means that she has to throw several drunkards out herself. She is quite able in defending herself and neutralizing rough, intoxicated clients. And when people inquire where she learned those skills, she always answers with a wink and a smile: "Well, fightin' is like dancin'... 'xcept your partner always ends up on the ground."

Rafaela can also be a bit quirky at times, cutting a song or a number short for some unexplained reason, and start a whole other song, or simply walk offstage and disappear in her quarters. People got used to it after awhile, and took the habit of attributing this strange behavior to "ladybot indispositions". She would also occasionally space out on stage, frozen mid-note without moving, until Harry comes up and smack her in the back of the head, after which she would resume the show as normal. She blames this on the arid climate of Gearsburg, as, being a "big city bot", she was not built to perform in overly dry and dusty environments. 

She earned the nickname of "Golden Belle", as a tribute to both her charms and Harry's establishment. (But in reality this nickname was more of a joke rather than real flattery, as some people would often joke between themselves that she had to be struck a few times for her to produce a song, "like a bell". They would say this very discreetly though, lest they wanted the metal lass to toss them out of the saloon... through a wall.) 

    In truth, all her erratic behaviors are attributed to glitches in her positronic brain; glitches due to an electromagnetic blast she suffered in the past.

    Unbeknownst to everyone around her, and even herself, Rafaela is not a stage bot. Her true name isn't even Rafaela.

She is know in secret circles as "The Ladybot WIth a Thousand Faces", though she would rather use "Copper Mask", for practicality's sake. She is a spy and part-time assassin, sent like many before her to Gearsburg in order to eliminate Harry. She an expert in infiltration and disguises. She can replace parts of her body with ease, allowing her to pose as whichever bot would suit the situation better. Among all the things she has been, she has been a maid, a snail breeder, a surgeon, a gator hunter, a real-estate agent for ghosts, and even once posed as a male bot sailor, on board the HMS Sea Slater. She also has a plethora of weapons and gadget hidden throughout her mechanical body.

Unfortunately, during her previous mission, she received a serious electromagnetic shock, which resulted in damaging the memory-processing part of her brain, causing her to lose her memory very spasmodically. Sometimes she would forget small trivial things, like the time, or a line from a song, other times she would forget big chunks of her life, like her true identity. She ought to get it fixed, of course... but always forgets.

Her condition is so severe and unpredictable that she even forgot that she had a condition to begin with. Those glitches are perceived as nothing more than charming personality quirks by others, as she otherwise seems to be perfectly operational. It is in this condition that she arrived in Gearsburg.

Soon after setting foot in the town, a sudden glitching spell made her forget her sole reason of being there, leaving only Rafaela, the identity she had created in order to get close to Harry.

    Rafaela can lose her memories just as easily a she can regain them. She would sometimes freeze, remembering her true identity, her mission, her condition, and the risks involved in being so close to Lucky Larry. At those moments she would try to slip away quickly and discreetly, and try to accomplish her task as soon as possible if no one was around, or try to leave herself a message on a note somewhere if people were present, compelling herself to get checked and fixed, or warning her to be wary around Harry. Somehow all those notes were lost, either by slipping through a crack in the floor, or buried under dozens of letters from Rafaela's admirers and inadvertently stored away among them, or she would also suddenly run out of ink as she was trying to write, or else she would find said notes later on, but not be able to make sense of their cryptic messages, and would dismiss them as weird and cruel jokes, as no one would ever think Harry to be a bad robot....

Her assassination attempts would be interrupted by someone coming in the establishment, or by a sudden memory-loss relapse that would leave Rafaela confused, towering over Harry deep in sleep-mode, holding a weapon... 

    What she doesn't know is that Harry is perfectly aware of who she is, and what she was here to do, since the very first time she walked through his door.

He purposefully keeps her around, as she is a valuable asset for his establishment, as well as for the twisted satisfaction of seeing her desperately trying to keep her mind together. He gets a great sensation of empowerment from keeping a well-renowned assassin, a mercenary sent to end his life, as a pet, locked within the prison of her memories, all the while singing for the entertainment of the town, like a canary trapped in a golden cage.




(So yeah basically Rabbit is an old-west robot ninja.)
